Uniqlo Shirt, Topshop Jeans, Zara Clutch, Asos Heels
I was so excited to finally get to attend a SF based event hosted by TopCoat last Thursday! The event was so crazy! Free manis, floral crown DIYs, complimentary blowouts, boutiques, drinks, and cake pops! So much fun!
I wore this new linen striped top from Uniqlo and it has seriously become one of my favorite pieces for a casual look that can be dressed up or dressed down. I guess I decided to go with a more casual night out look because something in me really wanted to wear the shirt with some boyfriend jeans, and heels.
These jeans are one of my favorite so far! I love the off-duty look of boyfriend jeans and how it makes every outfit ooze with cool factor. But, it is just so damn hard to find a pair that fit well. And these are so perfect because they’re high waisted-ish, but still have that loose and comfy fit while still being versatile because of the dark wash.

As most of you that have been keeping up with my blog this past week, I have been in Basel, Switzerland. The city is so rich with the culture of Italy, France, and Germany. It is truly such a remarkable place to see. I didn’t get the time to really explore the city as I was working, but between my assignments and appointments, I tried to fit in and see the beautiful sights on the way! I had the opportunity to peruse Basel World and see hundreds of different brands host their booth. And look at that Citizen booth! Isn’t it absolutely breathtaking? The decor is made of little watch pieces and strung along a line. Such creativity!
Hope you guys loved this recap and had an amazing weekend!

I know I know. I just did a beauty post, but as I'm flying out of Basel a day late due to the Lufthansa Pilot Strike, I thought it appropriate. Originally, my flight was from Basel to Frankfurt to Hong Kong. Now, we have to make another stop in Beijing.
For those of you who don't know, my skin is extremely sensitive, dehydrated, and blemish prone. Yes, the trifecta. So when I go on long haul flights, I make sure I have everything I need to stay hygenic and hydrated.
Kenzoki Ice Cold Eye Cream, Tangle Teezer, Simple Makeup Removal Wipes, Dolly Wink Eyeliner, Bourjois CC Concealer, Deodorant, Beauty Blender, Nars Douceur, ELF/Sasa/MAC brushes, Bourjois CC Cream, Anastasia Brow Powder, Topshop Highlighter, MJ Daisy Rollerball, Clea De Peau Concealer, MAC Highlighting Pen, Caudalie SOS Serum, Lubriderm Cream, Toothbrush, Clarins Sunscreen, Caudalie SOS Eye Cream, SK-II Clear Lotion, Innisfree Olive Oil, Sunday Riley Good Genes, Origins Face Cream, Nuxe Anti-Imperfection Cream
I usually pack a gel mask or two as well, but I ran out during the trip. It was so dry my skin was peeling! ew.

Topshop Shirt, Zara Jacket and Pants, Nastygal Shoes
The weather was so incredibly nice today in Basel. To be honest, I wasn't prepared. Before coming here, I checked the weather and it was supposed to be under 60F every day. It's by no means warm, but it's just, well, perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. At night, you barely need a jacket.
This neon shirt was my way of brightening up my outfits. I've been sticking to an all black ensemble lately and I was in dire need of some color in my life. It was one of my New Years resolutions to wear more color. There goes another goal out the window! How bout you guys? Do you wear tons of color or tend to stick to darker ones?

I have been so obsessed with lip products lately. Yes. I carry 4 in my purse at all times, and yes they do interchange when I'm feeling another color.
1. YSL Gloss Volupte #19
I used to be incredibly into lip glosses. But that was in high school when Bath and Body Works had this minty lip gloss that everyone and their mothers had. But after a while, it just became such a hassle. Living in San Francisco, the wind is not exactly my best friend. I'm sure all of you understand the pain of wearing lip gloss, but suddenly a gust of wind hits you and whoosh! your hair is stuck on your lips. Not a pretty sight.
But this lipgloss is not one of those. It goes on so smooth and not sticky at all. And a plus? It's smells SO good. Seriously, if you guys get the chance, go to a YSL counter and just smell their lipgloss. Mmm.
2. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector 05
After reading countless blog posts about how amazing this lip product is, I finally conformed and bought it. And rightly so. This is such a great everyday natural color. Simply put. It's like your lips but better.
3. Etude House Rosy Tint Lips #7
This is one of those really great complimentary products. I like to wear this with my Clarins lip perfector as a base or even doing the whole “bitten” lip thing but more natural.
4. L'oreal C511 Orange Power
I bought this on a whim while perusing Watsons in Hong Kong. It's a really nice and vibrant orange that's perfect for the spring and summer. How could I resist putting it in my bag? It's so great to have on the go when you realize you have plans for the night, pop this on and you're ready!

Zara Jacket, Azalea Dress
I'm sure most of you are sick of seeing the same bag and shoes for the past couple of posts. Well, I had to pack light(ish) so my usual 6-7 pairs is a no go. Okay. Let's be honest here. Even with my “light” packing, my bag was overweight by 7 pounds. Oh. Am I ashamed? Not really. Should I be? Probably.
I bought this dress while perusing in Azalea and was instantly attracted to its sheer yet slightly “sexy” look. Why the quotations around sexy? Well, the word doesn't exactly describe me. I'm too much of a clutz to be sexy. Tripping and constantly dropping my stuff is not exactly attributes of allure. But, wearing something sheer and lingerie-esque is the closest I'd get.
This denim jacket has not left my shoulders since I bought it at Zara two weeks ago. I was quite hesitant to buy it at first, but I'm really glad I did. It's just so versatile and comfy. It adds the perfect amount of cool to my outfits without trying too hard.

I think we can all agree. Blogging is tough work. I’ve been blogging since August of last year, and only in the recent month or two I have been actually keepng up with consistent posts. I know many people say in blogging, it takes time and dedication and such. But, honestly, it’s harder than you think. I don’t mind that my readership isn’t at the height of say, This Chick”s Got Style, but dedication is diffcult without a motivation. A push like when your readers expect you to post every day or every other day.
But, over time, I realized, posting so often makes me happy. Taking OOTDs and putting my DSLR to good use. I am pretty on track, if I might say, with my blog posting now. And, even though we all have room to improve, I have some tips and tricks for those of you that were in my place and lost in the sea of bloggers and fashion that want to move your blog into a postitive direction!
1. Schedule your posts.
I cannot emphasize how much of an impact that scheduling my posts has had on my consistency. I use this amazing app called Blogsy that allows you to work on your blog posts directly on your iPad. I use it to do the posts ahead of time and scheduling them with ease.
This app is definitely been a game changer for TFR. I travel a ton and love working at coffee shops, so carrying my iPad around is much less of a struggle than lugging my Macbook around. Yes, I have weak shoulders.
2. Doing photoshoots on weekends
Yes, this is kind of a cheat move. OOTDs are supposed to be pictures of what you’re wearing every day, but honestly, for those on the go and have busy schedules, it’s hard to always set apart time to take pictures of your outfits. That’s when le weekends come in. When I have a super busy week, I bunch up a good amount of outfits in one day and take pictures. I try to remember what I wear during the week and do posts with those.
3. Tripods and remotes are your BFFs
Seriously. I don’t have a photographer friend, so most of the time, I have to make use of my trusty tripod and remote to do photoshoots on my own. Yes it is awkward when people walk by. Yes you may look like a narcissist. But, all for the blog right?
4. I <3 My iPad
I get that not everyone has an ipad. But for those that do, USE IT! My iPad has changed my complete blogging routine. Convenience and efficient. I recently bought the Memory card iPad adapter and it is pure magic. It’s so nice to be able to take pictures and immediately import them, edit, and write my post.
In terms of editing pictures, I use Mei Tu Xiu Xiu, a chinese app, to edit any imperfections on my skin. Then, I use PS Express or Afterlight to edit the actual picture (exposure, sharpen, etc)
After editing, I start compiling everything into Blogsy, pick a schedule time/date, and boom! Done!
I hope these tips and tricks has helped you guys! More to come in the future!

Zara Dress, Topshop Jacket, Nastygal Booties
Originally, I wanted to wear this dress with knee highs, but it was just way too cold in Basel to do that. I'll save that for a sunny day. But after the long battle to get my tights on without falling over, I realized that I looked somewhat like a gogo dancer with the high neck shift dress and the tights. All I needed was a headband and some rockin' earrings to match.

Topshop Jacket and Jumpsuit, Forever 21 shoes
It wasn't until I left the hotel that I realized that I look somewhat like Sandy from Grease. Leather and all black. Borderline biker wannabe or disco gal. I prefer edgy chic. Do you guys ever try to use other words or terms just to make yourself feel better? haha I sure do. So no I don't look like someone from the 50's that loves high waisted disco pants, leather, and all black. Wait, I already wore that before.

(From top left clockwise) Zara Bag, Alexander Wang Purse, iPhone, Press Pass, Device Charger, Nice&Natural Muesli Bar, iPad, L'oreal/Etude House/Clarins Lippies, Typo Notebook, Karen Walker Sunglasses
As you guys all know, I'm spending the next week in Basel as an Intern Journalist. It's been incredibly hectic with press conferences and interviewing exhibitors, as well as trendspotting among the brands attending. Baselworld is huge. Separated into halls, Hall 1 is the largest and where all the biggest brands house there enormous booths. It's crazy. Most of them are two stories and have stairs.
I have quite scaled down my usual purse equipment into the few items that are a must. And yes, I know there are 3 lip products. What can I say? I'm obsessed. My iPad's been a real lifesaver for this trip. With this awesome bluetood keyboard case, it has replaced my laptop for all travel purposes. And I also just bought a memory card adaptor for iPads, so all blogging and photography can be oh so efficiently done and uploaded.
