Nasty Gal Top, Topshop Skirt, Monki Sunglasses

With a full day of being a tourist in Hong Kong, my friend and I found a cool street that ran through Central that was filled with fruit and vegetable stands. And obviously, we just had to nonchalantly do a photo shoot there.

Without trying to offend anyone, I want to say that I honestly feel that a lot of Hong Kong’s culture has faded into a cultivation of a ton of different other country’s cultures and subcultures. Advertisements are now mainly composed of Korean or Japanese celebrities. Stores and brands are being imported from the US, Europe, and South Korea. It’s crazy how so much of Hong Kong has adapted to a foreign culture.

And on the same note, it was a real task trying to find really native Hong Kong places last minute. I’m sure there are a TON of cool and very Hong Kong kind of spots that I have yet to discover. I guess it’s kind of nice that you really have to dig and find these gems in such a wild place.

Have y’all ever visited Hong Kong?

What are your thoughts?

  1. These photos are amazing! I love the high contrast of the backdrop paired with your lace top. I hope you’re having an awesome time. I’ve never been to Hong Kong, but it’s definitely on my list of places to visit!
